Health and Safety Policy Statement

Our statement of general policy is:-

  • To provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities
  • To provide and maintain a safe working environment
  • To prevent accidents and cases of work-related health
  • To maintain safe and healthy working conditions
  • To review and revise the policy as necessary at regular intervals.

1. Introduction

  • In order to assure clients and suppliers of our adherence to such considerations, we have developed this policy to detail our statement of general policy on health and safety at work.

2. Responsibilities

  • Overall and final responsibility for health and safety is that of Angie Lowe.
  • Day-to-day responsibility for ensuring this policy is put into practice is delegated to Angie Lowe who also has the responsibility to ensure health and safety standards are maintained/improved in all areas.
  • All staff have to:
    • Co-operate on health and safety matters
    • Not interfere with anything provided to safeguard their health and safety
    • Take reasonable care of their own health and safety
    • Report all health and safety concerns.

3. Health and safety risks arising from work activities

  • Risk assessments will be undertaken and reported by Angie Lowe.
  • Angie Lowe will be required to undertake action to remove/control risks and will be responsible for ensuring the action required is implemented and to check that the implemented actions have removed/reduced the risks.
  • Assessments will be reviewed every 6 months or when the work activity changes, whichever is soonest.

4. Consultation

  • Any consultation on this policy can be made with Angie Lowe.

5. Safe equipment

  • Angie Lowe is responsible for assessing and rectifying any risk associated with the use of computer equipment and peripherals.

Equality Policy

The purpose of this policy is to provide equal opportunities to all in employment, irrespective of their gender, race, ethnic origin, disability, age, nationality, national origin, sexuality, religion, marital status and social class. We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination.

All employees, whether part time, full time or temporary will be treated fairly and equally. Selection for employment, promotion, training or any other benefit will be on the basis of aptitude and ability.

The policy will be continually monitored and reviewed annually.
The policy will be implemented within the framework of the relevant legislation which includes:-

  • Equal Pay Act 1970 (Equal Value Amendment 1984).
  • Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
  • Sex Discrimination Act 1975 (Gender Reassignment Regulations 1999).
  • Race Relations Act 1976.
  • Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
  • The Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

Environmental Policy

This environmental policy details the activities undertaken and processes in place in consideration of the impact on the environment of activities undertaken by the company.

As a service sector company, our core activities do not directly use natural resources or impact detrimentally upon the environment. We are however conscious of our impact with regard to the use of office facilities and travel.

Office support activities:-

  • We recycle all printer cartridges.
  • We reuse paper that has been printed on one side.
  • We turn off all electrical equipment when not in use.
  • We are conscious of our use of resources, for example only filling the kettle with the required volume of water and keeping necessary doors and windows shut.
  • We recycle magazines, telephone directories and catalogues.

Travel:-

  • We use public transport where appropriate.
  • We minimize journeys taken by arranging meetings on the same day where possible.
